Abyssinian Crisis: Mehal Sefari - just some test figures

In order to approach the rendering of the skin colors found in Ethiopia, which in the original range from dark brown to reddish skin tones, I did some tests with different color and wash combinations, and after finding some schemes that worked well, I wanted to test the effect on fully painted figures.

So I painted some figures, choosing a uniform color scheme for clothing etc. so that the effect of the skin color would also be in the foreground.

In the end, I decided on 4 figures where I was most convinced by the skin color compared to the prototype photos and which I will use in this way.

For the bases I used self-sifted sand, tinted with different shades of sand and washes, self-dyed and chopped flock that I still brushed with a faded shade of green, and the grass tufts I made with my electrostatic flock master from a mixture of brownish 2mm, 4.5mm late autumn, and 8mm straw-colored grass fibers.

  1. Sehr, sehr schick! Die Hauttöne sind dir hervorragend gelungen. Ich mag auch den uniformen Look sehr gerne. Wenn du das auf dem Niveau durchziehst, dann wird das ein absoluter Knaller.
