Band of Brothers. 101st Airborne in 15mm: Recce Jeeps and dismounted teams

The dismounted crews for the Recce Jeeps are finished and with them the mere Airborne part is complete (at least for now).

Over the next coming weeks there will follow the armoured support for Project Carentan and that is the 2nd Armoured Division "Hell on Wheels".

Die abgesessenen Teams der Recce Jeeps sind fertig geworden und damit der (zumindest vorerst) letzte Part der reinen Airborne-Truppe.

In den nächsten Wochen folgen dann die gepanzerten Unterstützungstruppen für mein Carentan-Projekt - und das ist die 2nd Armoured Division "Hell on Wheels".

Band of Brothers. 101st Airborne in 15mm for the Battle for the Normandy: First sniper team done

The first sniper team for my Airborne is ready to make sure those Krauts keep their heads down - and for Battlegroup, it is also the first reconnaissance unit.

Sniper and Observer self printed again, STL´s are from 3D Breed, whereby I built the scope myself from brass wire and Greenstuff, as there was no ready-made figure for it available.
The brick wall is made from single "stones" cut from styrofoam.

Das erste Scharfschützen-Team für meine Airborne ist bereit dafür zu sorgen, dass die Krauts ihre Köpfen unten halten - und für Battlegroup ist es gleichzeitig die erste Aufklärungseinheit, die damit einsatzbereit ist.

Schütze und Beobachter sind wieder selbstgedruckt, STL´s stammen wieder von 3D Breed, wobei ich das Zielfernrohr aus Messingdraht und Greenstuff selbstgebaut habe, da es keine fertige Figur dafür gab.
Die Mauern habe ich aus einzeln geschnittenen "Steinen" aufgemauert, die ich aus Styrofoam geschnitten habe.

My Forward Observer Team joins the ranks of my US Airborne Battlegroup, ready to direct the artillery support; Jeep mounted and dismounted version.

Jeep is from Battlefront Miniatures, driver and passenger are printed 3D Breed STL´s.

Mein vorgeschobener Artillerie-Beobachter ist fertig geworden, sowohl als in Stellung gegangene Version, als auch noch in ihrem Jeep sitzend.

Der Jeep stammt von Battlefront, alle Figuren sind selbstgedruckt, die STL´s stammen von 3D Breed.

Warmaster: Another project on my list at the horizon?

On Saturday I was in Munich with the Weiss Blaue Strategen, there was a Warmaster campaign day on the agenda with several connected games.
The current Warmaster Revolution version was played.

It started with a scouting scenario with 500 points - Ors&Goblins against Empire and I was allowed to take over the Orcs&Gobbos.

I was absolutely convinced by the rules and had a lot of fun, even though I lost by a narrow margin.
So I guess there's one more new project on my list, which isn't short anyway 😅


The orcs and gobbos march surprisingly well ordered towards the enemy, only the shaman has to have the orders explained to him again 😎
Maybe he just shouts his orders too unintelligibly, in any case the right flank always lags behind.

The Empire's halberdiers crash into my orcs on the left flank.

My orcs are losing ground, but the two empire regiments are not getting out of it either and more orcs are approaching on the flanks.

Shortly after, the halberdiers are wiped out, but then the Empire general gets angry and wipes out the unit of Orcs that the Orc Boss had joined, and with that the remaining Gobbos take to their heels.

Am Samstag war ich in München bei den Weiss Blaue Strategen, es stand ein Warmaster Kampagnen-Tag auf dem Plan, bei dem mehrere zusammenhängende Spiele auf dem Plan standen.
Gespielt wurde die aktuelle Warmaster Revolution Version.

Es ging mit einem Scouting-Szenario mit 500 Punkten los - Ors&Goblins gegen Imperium und ich durfte die Orcs&Gobbos übernehmen.

Die Regeln haben mich absolut überzeugt und haben einen Mordsspaß gemacht, auch wenn ich knapp verloren habe.

Da steht dann wohl ein neues Projekt mehr auf meiner eh nicht kurzen Liste 😅

Which way to the Front?

Supply jeep is on the way to my 15mm US Airborne.
I like rule where such small vignettes are not only ornamental but also serve a function - in this case to rearm units that are out-of-ammo.

Driver is a printed one, Jeep and passenger are Battlefront Miniatures, trailer is printed too, STL from Eskice Miniature.
Tarp is made from paper tissue, stowage is either printed, or from Battlefront again.

Jeep mit Versorgungsgütern auf dem Weg zu meinen 15mm US Airborne.

Ich liebe ja Regeln, wo solche kleinen Vignetten nicht nur zur Zierde für den Spieltisch dienen, sondern auch eine echte Funktion erfüllen - in dem Falle Einheiten wieder aufzumunitionieren, die ihre Munition komplett verschossen haben.
