Terrain: Making templates for my 15mm buildings out of scratch

This is my first post of the new year, so I would like to wish all my readers a happy, prosperous and, above all, healthy new year!

When I moved to Bavaria and switched from 28mm to 15mm (and 10mm), I wanted to keep my buildings playable, as I was used to with my 28mm buildings before.
However, this quickly proved to be very impractical at a scale of 15mm and smaller, as they are simply too small and awkward to handle, especially when my preferred multi-bases come into play.

So I created templates of the floor plans and storeys, used wooden strips to represent the walls, and voilà, you can now easily place and move figures in buildings and immediately see which figures are positioned where – without having to constantly remove roofs and storeys.

A small and quick craft project that didn't strain my eyes and marked my start to the new year in terms of my hobby.

Chain of Command: Jump Off Points for my US Boys

As I wanted some thematically appropriate Jump Off Points for my US Boys, I used some leftover miniatures from my AD- and Airborne projects and some drop containers and parachutes (self-printed ones) to build 4 of them.

Of course these markers could be used as Objective Markers for Battlegroup too.

A short rest.

Re-supply found!

All stowed away now.

Game Marker for CoC, 'O'-Group and Battlegroup: Sections of Barbed Wire in 15mm

After completing the markers for Minefields the next ones we needed for our games were some sections of Barbed Wire.

Measuring 6" x 2" using cocktail sticks cut to length for the posts and Security Wire to represent the barbed wire.
In addition to normal sections, I also built 3 destroyed sections of these barbed wire entanglements, which were either destroyed by artillery/mortar fire, tanks driving through them, or by pioneers with wire cutters.

And a closer look at the destroyed sections:

Game Marker for CoC, 'O'-Group and Battlegroup: Minefields

As I need some more game marker, I started a little project to make them - first are marker for minefields in two versions: German and an Allied ones.

Used popsicle sticks that are nearly perfectly 6" long - it´s much more flexible how to lay down the Minefields on the gaming table this way.

And here some impressions from the WiP stage:

Chain of Command Game Marker: Cover Fire

Marker for Cover Fire for Chain of Command.

Each strip measuring 4" - this is the area the fire of one team can cover. A section would cover 9", so this would be two strips set 1" apart.

This is just ab bit of drilled wire to simulate shots that make the ground splash up and a bit of floss tha I coloured with a light shade of brown from below.

28mm Painting: 2 Sniper and a downed female pilot as object marker

In the last few weeks I have had very little time due to the preparations for my move to Bavaria and only wanted to finish a few smaller projects beforehand.

These included a sniper for my Australians, a downed pilot as an object marker for our Operation Squad Evolution games and a sniper for my Winter War Finns.

Let's start with the downed female pilot, a resin figure from Warlord Games:

Next up, the Sniper for my Digger, a 3D print of a Commando Sniper by 3D Breed from the Kickstarter March To Hell - Europe in Flames:

And last but not least, the Sniper for my Finns, which concludes the small project and which I will not continue (at least in 28mm) and will sell the Squad.

Figure is from Warlord Games:
